1 Day

Arriving in Tashkent
Our guide will meet you in the airport of Tashkent with the tablet "Tashrif Tours".
Transfer to hotel and accommodation in Hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

2 Day
Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva

Check out and transfer to airport.
Leaving for Urgench.
Arrival in Urgench.
Meeting at the airport and transfer to Khiva (30km)

Khiva Fortress of Khorezm - Khiva (250 km)

08:00 am Breakfast.

09:00 Transfer with guide to the ancient fortress of Khorezm :

  • Kyzyl Kala (the "Red City"), defended the frontiers of the state in I-XII centuries.
  • Toprak Kala ("Clay castle"), the capital of Khorezm in the I century AD.
  • Ayaz Kala ("Ice Castle"), which is associated with romantic legend about a young man Ayaz who built a fortress to win the heart of the princess. The castle has been found traces of human habitation.

01:00 am Lunch in a yurt at the fortress Ayaz-kala.
On request you may continue the excursion in fortresses.
On the way back, if desired, you can ride on a boat on the river Amu-Daria for about an hour.
Return to Khiva.

4 Day
Khiva Bukhara (475 km)

08:00 am Breakfast.
09:00 am Transfer to Bukhara across the Kyzylkum's dessert.
01:00 pm Lunch during the way (you need to take food with yourselves in Khiva).
Arrival at Bukhara. Accommodation in the hotel.
Free time.
07:00 pm Dinner in the restaurant. Overnight.

5 Day

08:00 am Breakfast.

09:00 am Sightseeing excursion in "The Old City": Bukhara has kept a medieval lay-out, thanks to which, each building, each house on its curve narrow small streets, bears in itself charm of olden time. Here time borders are erased, here you lose sensation of time ...

the City architecture includes acquaintance to such monuments, as:

  • Mausoleum of Samanids (10 c.) - the pearl of Central asian architecture, the family tomb of Samanids' dynasty.
  • Mausoleum of Chashma Ayub (12 - 16 centuries), inside which there is a spring of healing water of saint Iova (Ayub).

Visiting markets: fruit, dried fruits, nuts, spices.
Bolo-Hauz Mosque (18 c.) - a quarter mosque.

Continue the excursion:

  • Ark-Citadel - majestic fortress, the habitat of governors of Bukhara, stronghold of might and power (1 century BC - 19 c)
  • Mosque Kalyan (Big mosque)(16 c.)
  • Minaret Kalyan - the symbol of Bukhara, throughout centuries served as a beacon for caravans in the desert, which made their way to Bukhara. Other name of the minaret - "death tower", according to one of legends, in mediaeval time from this minaret were thrown down adulteresses and Bukhara freethinkers.
  • Functioning madrassah of Mir-i-Arab (16 c) - where studied the head mufti of Russian Moslems Ravil Ghaynuddeen and decedent president of the Chechen Republic Ahmad Kadyrov, who was mufti before.
  • Madrassah of Abdullazizkhan (17 centuries)
  • Madrassah of Ulugbek (15 c.) - constructed by Tamerlan's grandson. At the entrance there you can see an inscription in Arabian, words of the prophet Mohammed: "Aspiration for knowledge is a duty of each muslim man and woman"
  • Tim of Abdullakhan (16 c.) - the covered market used for trade by expensive silk fabrics.
  • Walk under trading domes of the 16th century: Toki Sarraffon, Toki Telpak Furushon, Toki Zargaron, where handicraftsmen (jewellers, miniaturists and others) sell their products.
  • Caravansarais of Bukhara.
  • Mosque of Magoki Attori (12-16 centuries) - was built where in ancient time were temples of fireworshipers. It is one of the three monuments in Bukhara, left safe after Genghis Khan's invasion.
  • Visiting the centre of Development of Bukhara's crafts, located in a caravansarai Sayfiddeen. Crafts: weaver's workshop, woodcarving, stamping, painting on a tree, Central Asian miniature, carpetweaving (from time immemorial, from generation to generation, secrets of skill of handicraftsmen were transferred. This tradition is alive until now).
  • Ensemble Lyabi-Hauz: khanaka and madrassah of Nadir Divan Begi (16 c.), Kukeldash madrassah (15 c.), the monument of Khoja Nasreddeen.

6 Day

08:00 am Breakfast.
09:00 Necropolis of Chor-Bakr (X-XVI centuries), 4 km from Bukhara
Nothing can disturb the inhabitants of the ancient city. Only occasionally in silence are heard the cries of birds-peacocks, beautiful guards of the "City of Shadows".

Transfer to the settlement Varakhsha, near Bukhara. Once these ruins  were a majestic palace of Bukhara-khudat, the powerful rulers of a great empire in the 5-6 centuries. People left the city because of the approaching desert sands of the Kizil-kum.

Lost City Paikend - to 12-century the richest city on the Silk Road, has received the second name "Asian Pompey”, because it was covered with sand, and its inhabitants were forced to leave their homes.

Returning to Bukhara.
On the way to Bukhara you'll see the cotton and tobacco fields, orchards, vineyards, villages, river Zeravshan ("gold bearing"), as well as small segments of the desert, but if you're lucky you’ll see camels.

7 Day
Bukhara - Shahrisabz Samarkand

08:00 am Breakfast.
09:00 am Transfer to Shakhrisabz (298 km).

01:00 pm Lunch in mountain chaykhana.

02:00 pm Excursion around Shahrisabz.

Shakhrisabz is the birthplace of Tamerlane - a military leader who founded the great empire of Tamerlane.

  • Ak – saray palace (1380-1404 yy.)
  • Doru Saodat Ensemble (14 c.)
  • Khazrati Imam Ensemble (14 c.)
  • Djakhongir’s Mausoleum (14 c.)
  • Architectural complex Dor-ut-Tilovat: Kok Gumbaz mosque (1345 y.), Gumbazi Saidon (15-17 cc.)
  • Mausoleum and necropolis of Sahamsiddin Kulyal (15 c.)

Transfer to Samarkand through mountain mouting pass (100 ).

From the pass you can see picturesque landscape of nearby mountains and surrounding countryside.
Sometimes this road is closed. In this case we have to ride to another road (+40 km). This way you will have the opportunity to visit handicraftsman Shariff Bobo. You will visit his hospitable house, drink tea and will be introduced to karshi carpets weaving technical. Also you can buy handmade wool rugs.

8 Day

09:00 am Excursion  around Samarkand.
Samarkand  is one of the most majestic cities of Uzbekistan, beloved capital of the great Tamerlane.

  • Gur-Emir Mausoleum (XIV-XV cc.) A two-level tomb of Tamerlane, Ulugbek and other Timurid, fanned by the mystical legend, guarded by ancient spirits.
  • Registan Square. (XV-XVII cc.) Samarkand Square where the executions and celebrations took place is surrounded by three buildings: Madrasah of Ulugbek (XV century) once considered to be the best spiritual institution in the East, where Ulugbek himself taught, , Abdurrahman Jami and Omar Khayyam studied in madrassas; Madrasah Tilla-Kori (XVII cent.) and Sher-Dor (XVII cent.) doorway of which is decorated with the symbols of Samarkand city - mystical lion with the sun on his back.

Continuation of excursion around Samarkand:

  • Bibi Khanum  Mosque (XIV century).

Bibi Khanum Mosque is translated as "the eldest princess". Tamerlane built the mosque after a victorious hike in India in honor of his beloved wife.

  • Mausoleum of Shahi Zinda (XII-XV cc.)

Complex on the outskirts of Samarkand, which consists of 11 mausoleums, where the royalty buried. According to  the legend, a cousin of the Prophet Muhammad - Ibn Abbass Kusam, wounded in battle, managed to escape and hide in the territory of complex in a well, where he is still living.

  • City Afrosiab (VI cent. BC-XIII century AD.)

Ancient "Marakanda" was the capital  of Sogdian state. The town was burned down by Genghis Khan. New Samarkand has been restored to the side of the ruins.

9 Day
Samarkand - Tahskent

08:00 am Breakfast.
09:00 am Transfer to Tashkent (310 km).

03:00 pm Sightseeing of Tashkent. The strong earthquake in Tashkent in 1966 completely destroyed Old City, but that little what was saved makes a strong contrast with the architecture of modern Tashkent:
